What is the difference between chautha, uthala and tehravin?
Chautha and uthala are held on the fourth day after the cremation, and tehravin on the thirteenth. Families observe them differently by community and region. Tell us which one you are holding and we will arrange the catering, seating and samagri to suit it.
How far in advance should tehravin catering be booked?
Earlier is easier, because the date is usually known from the day of the cremation and it lets us confirm the kitchen, staff and venue together. We also take short-notice bookings. Call with the date and an approximate guest count and we will tell you what is possible.
Is the food pure vegetarian and sattvik?
Yes. Everything is cooked pure vegetarian, without onion and garlic where the family asks for a sattvik menu. Jain and other specific requirements can be accommodated when they are confirmed in advance.
Can you arrange the hall, seating and pandit along with the catering?
Yes. We can coordinate the prayer hall or shok sabha venue, seating, tables, a portrait and floral setup, the pandit and the puja samagri along with the meal, so the family is dealing with one point of contact rather than several.
Can you arrange bhajan and kirtan artists for the prayer meeting?
Yes. We arrange bhajan and kirtan singers with harmonium and tabla for chautha, uthavani, tehravin and prayer meetings across Delhi NCR. Tell us the date, the venue and roughly how long you would like them to sing, and we will confirm the arrangement.
