Funeral Arrangement Checklist for Families in Delhi NCR

Use this checklist to keep the family's decisions, contacts and quoted services together. One person can maintain the list while relatives handle individual calls. You do not need to buy a complete package to use it.

1. Record the contacts and current situation

• Family coordinator: name, phone number and backup contact.
• Current location: hospital, mortuary or home, with department, address and pickup instructions.
• Release status: who can confirm it and which records have been supplied.
• Destination: home, cremation ground, another city or airport cargo facility.

Keep identity documents and private records with the family and authorised people handling the case. Follow the hospital or relevant authority's instructions about release and paperwork.

2. Agree the family's immediate preferences

• Preferred ground and cremation method, subject to confirmation.
• Family customs and whether a priest has been contacted.
• Relatives travelling, timing constraints and arrangements if there is a wait.
• Vehicle needs, family seating and any stops.

These decisions help when discussing cremation arrangements, transport and freezer rental.

3. Compare the same items in each quote

For every item, record the provider, what is included, the amount, what may cost extra and who confirms it. Mark each as needed, already arranged or not required.

• Ground charges and receipt.
• Vehicle, distance basis, tolls, parking and waiting.
• Freezer rental period, setup, delivery, collection and extensions.
• Priest and ritual materials.
• Coffin, preparation and airline charges if the deceased will fly.
• Coordination charges, applicable taxes, deposit and payment terms.
• Optional flowers, hall or meal arrangements.

4. Confirm before dispatch and travel

• Release and document requirements checked with the responsible organisation.
• Vehicle type, pickup estimate and coordinator contact confirmed.
• Ground or receiving person aware of the arrival plan.
• Quote and payment responsibilities understood.
• Meeting point shared privately with relatives.

5. Keep later arrangements on a separate list

Record the instructions for collecting ashes, the family's wishes for asthi visarjan, and any prayer gathering or meal. Confirm each booking's date, place, inclusions and charges.
